Coffee farm in Vietnam
Vietnam is the worldâs second-largest coffee producer, and its farms are the backbone of the countryâs thriving coffee industry. Most coffee farms are located in the Central Highlands, particularly in provinces like Äắk Lắk, Lâm Äáťng, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum, where the volcanic soil, moderate climate, and high elevation create ideal growing conditions. A typical Vietnamese coffee farm ranges from small family-owned plots of 1â3 hectares to larger estates operated by cooperatives or private enterprises. Farmers primarily cultivate Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora), which makes up nearly 90% of Vietnamâs production due to its high yield, resilience, and strong, bold flavor. In areas with higher elevation, especially in Lâm Äáťng province near Da Lat, some farmers also grow Arabica coffee, known for its smoother and more delicate taste.
